University of Connecticut Health Center Adopts OpenClinica Open Source Clinical Trials Management Software
October 25 2006The General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) at the University of Connecticut Health Center has chosen to adopt OpenClinica Enterprise to power its clinical research studies. OpenClinica is an open source software platform that enhances the productivity of managing clinical trails.
The GCRC at the University of Connecticut supports numerous research studies that cover a wide variety of medical domains. «We anticipate substantial gains in productivity as we roll OpenClinica out across our studies,» said Khamis Abu-Hasaballah, Director of Informatics at the GCRC. «OpenClinica should also allow the GCRC to support a larger number of studies than we have been able to before, with the same resources.»
The University has contracted with Akaza Research, LLC, to manage the implementation and provide ongoing enterprise-level services.
